Stratford Park
Located just outside of Stroud town centre, Stratford park is an enormous 56 acres of park and arboretum. It has a fully equipped leisure centre with both indoor and outdoor pools, plus tennis courts, a bowling green, a large skate park and several play parks which although dated have equipment for all ages. Directly outside the leisure centre is a small park for under 5s - you can grab a coffee or something to eat form the leisure centre cafe and there is seating in and outside. Behind the leisure centre is a larger grassed area with several play parks and picnic tables. A few minutes walk is ‘Museum in the Park’, set in a beautiful historic mansion, admission is free to the museum, art gallery and stunning walled garden. The rest of the park is a picturesque arboretum with duck pond, band stand and lovely walks. And if that’s not enough, there’s a miniature railway which runs the last Sunday of every month.
